In the area that we live in there is a wide range of
locations and sceneries near us. We wanted a wide range of locations showing
the friends going through a journey together. Though the music video we start
in the daylight and then slowly goes dusk and then night time. We picked each
location to suit the time of day best.
Riverside
Riverside is part of our daytime half of our music video. We
choose Riverside to be part of our day time half because this location is a
nature location. There isn't much light pollution in this location, so the only
way to see the location is in the day light. The reasons why we choose to put
this location in our music video because of the beautiful nature scenery and
there is a large river that goes though the location. We like that this place
was very rural compared to the rest of our music video where it’s going to be
mostly urban locations. With having a rural location in the mix, it breaks up
the locations and gives more verity.
Dockside
This is our other rural location that we have chosen. These
two locations are very close to each other but Dockside is a bit urban as there
are buildings but there is still nature and water. This location is part of our day time half. We
choose this location because of the marina that means there would be boats and
we would get nice reflects of the water. This location is very prettying with
the boats and modem landscapes. This contributes to the music video as the
location fits with the characters that we have. Which are young adults, the
stereotypical adult likes everything modern and clean cut.
Winter Wonderland - London
Winter wonder land in is our night time half of our music
video this is because of the bright lights. This location is very dole in the
daytime as the lights are turned off. With all the colourful lights turned on
it brings life to the scene. I have seen pictures of winter wonderland in the
day light and the location doesn't have the same spirit and feel. The lights
were the main reason why we choose to film at this location. As you can see
from the photo above everything is lit up with colourful lights.
Soho -London
Soho is part of our night life half of our video. We choose
for this location to be part of our night life because of the lights and bars
that are in the area. The reason for picking Soho was because of the lively
night life. We know that the streets of Soho would be very lively and full of
people which we liked. This location is filled with pub, bars and shops. We
thought this would be a nice location to transition from Soho to winter
wonderland.
Camden - London
This location is part of our day time section. We thought
that this location would be a perfect asset to the collective group of other
locations we have chosen. We picked this location because of unique buildings
and sculptures. Another reason for this location is the markets. The markets at
Camden are a fix placed market full of food, cloths, and trinkets. Having these
elements in our music video would bring colourful feel to the video.
China Town - London
China Town is not part of our day or night time, its
in-between (dusk). China down is very distanced as when we enter China Town
there is a massive gate, which can be seen able. The reasons we picked China
Town are similar to before as all our locations have unique features. With this
location the unique feature is the Chinese patterns that are printed all over
this area. Another feature is that most of the signs are in Chinese writing
making the area feel foreign, without the warm weather.
Piccadilly – London
Piccadilly is in the daytime. This location is also in the
London regain. When we go to film in London there is multiple locations we can
go and film in one day. We picked Piccadilly because of the big lit-up TV
screens. This is the only place we know that had these TV screens. Another
reason why we want to us these locations because of the big founding as we
found it was a good feature point.
Namco - London
Namco is an underground arcades located in Westminster. This location misquote unknown in a big well known location. In this arcade these is games, bumper cars, bar, pool and table tennis. We like the range of activities that this location has to offer. Though this location is underground it is very well lit for us to film in. We liked the idea of using the bumper cars, bar, games and table tennis as we thought they would give us some fun camera shots.
School Green Screen
In our media room at school we have a green screen, so we thought we would take advantage of this luxury. We had some ideas of doing shots of a green screen that way our characters can go to other locations without us going. This would give our video variety.
Tube and trains
As we would be traveling by tubes and trains when filming we
thought we should use these facilities as it would help each location connect
back tougher. Another reason for using the tube stations is the capture was we
are. The location name is in the background for lip syncing.
Conclusion
Doing this post was very helpful to me as I was able to
check if these locations were the right location for us to have. While doing
the post I found some more location that would fit our music video which was
the tubes, trains and green screen as we didn't think of these locations
before.
