32. Costume and prop research/ List of Costumes and Props To Be Used

Our music video follows friends on multiple days out and the video goes from day to night, meaning what they were will change. The cloths the girls will be wearing are depending on the location and time of day. All three girls show their own individuality though what they wear. When we conducted our research people matched that they like cloth changes. Props we don't have a lot of them because we are going to be traveling a lot, so we don't want thing to be stolen. We are going to us the elements around us for props and our bags that will be carrying our costume changes.

 Location One - Riverside

In our fist location we have chosen to wear casual clothing as this location is a country park. Where it’s muddy and wet most of the time. For this location I will be wearing ripped jeans, turtle neck top and converses. The Riverside location is quite a relaxed place so we wanted our outfits to reflect this as we wanted our mis-en-scene to match. What I Will be wearing will be good as it’s similar to what our target audience would wear. The other two members in my group will be in similar but different cloths. Page will be wearing ripped jeans and a black vest top. Eleanor will be in black leggings, grey top and a black hoodie.

There aren’t any major props for this scene as it’s only a small segment of our production. As these girls will be stereotypical teens we are going to be using a phone and earphones as we have planned to film a frame on a bench with these props as teens listen to music a lot. We might end up using other object that we find on our way as it is a country park.

Location Two - Camden

The Camden time area is very much urban. Looking an area they have graphitized walls. This area is full of market stalls and culture. This Location is part of our day time section, so casual would fit perfectly. Whereas if we went to Camden is the night time the atmosphere changes and people in the area dress up more. So we thought casual would work best for this location because of these reasons. We would be wearing different cloths compared to last time as it is a new day out.
I would be wearing black leggings and a crop jersey jumper. Paige will be wearing blue top and black jeans. Lastly Eleanor will be wearing a burgundy hoodie and back leggings.

Props we are going to us thing that we find on the day. When we go to the market stalls the products will be our props. We might also find a map to us. We plan to us phones again as technology is a big thing for teens. Who are also our target audience.

Location Three - The Tubes

There are no particular outfits for the train as it would not make sense why we have different cloths for the tube. We are using the tubes to show us traveling about, so we want our outfit to be the same a location before or after the tube scene. Another reason is the weight as we already are carrying lots of cloths for the day so additional cloths would be unassay.
For props we are going to be using the travel cards because that is what allows us on the tubes. We will also be using our phones to take pictures and play music.

Location Four - Namco in Westminster

The dress code for this location is smart casual. This is because there is a bar located inside the arcades. As it is a bar we thought it would be most appropriate to dress nice but the arcades are not a place to dress up for. To find a compromise we went for smart casual because of this reason above. I would be wearing jeans and a fitted hoodie. Paige will be wearing a demi skirt and black crop top. Eleanor will be wearing leggings and a top. Still showing our individuality.

When we are at the bar, we are going to be ordering drinks. For props we are going to be using money drinks and a napkin as we are in a bar. We will be using the drinks as drinks are what you mainly buy in a bar. For the arcades we will be using coins and the games that are available to us. One in particular is the bumper cars as they are a stereotypical activity to go on.

Location Four/Location Five - Piccadilly Square/ Chinatown

For this location we have chosen to dress smart-casual as the location is right next to Regent Street and Oxford Street which rich area of London so we thought we should dress up for this area. This area is also very touristy this is the reason for the casual. For this location I'm going to wear a demi skirt and wool jumper. Paige is not in Piccadilly. Eleanor is going to wear black ripped jeans and black vest top.

There are not props for this scene other than the locations objects around us for example a lamp post. The reason for no props is because this are not required for this location as there is a lot going on here.

Location Six - Dockside

The dress code for this location is casual as we are by the river again but near the marina. In this location we are going to have some lunch, so we don't want to be too scruffy. We would be going to a burger restraint, so we don't want to be too fancy.

As we are going out for lunch the props we will be using are money, food, drinks, menu and our phones. We are out for a meal so having these props shows why we have go into this restraint.

Location Seven - Winter Wonderland

The dress code for this location is smart-casual as we are going to London hype parks most famous theme park/carnival. We wanted to have a winter look to our outfits showing it is cold and snowy. I will be wearing jeans, long sleeve black top, parker coat, and ear warmer and leather boots. I feel that this is a very winter look. The other characters will be in something similar.

The props that we will be using are products from the market stalls and a hot chocolate. We choose these props because a hot chocolate is associated with the cold weather and we are trying to show that the weather is cold. And for the products, these are lots of stalls. As there will be a lot of stalls in the background so it makes sense to go to one of these stalls.

Location Nine - Leaving

For the costumes we are not sure what we will be wearing. We are saying bye to each other and then getting in the car to travel. We are most likely will be in smart-casual, as these cloths are the ones we are going to great our new friends at the other end. They will also be casual as the journey to university is long so you want to wear confine cloths.
We have a though more props this time as we are moving away. We will be using phones, boxes suitcases and a car. The boxes and suitcase shows they have fully packed to go to university. The car is to show how they are getting to university. The phone is these because this is a stereotypical thing for a young adult to have in their hands.

Conclusion

This post has been very useful as I've been able to plan out what costumes and props will fit best for each scene, and the meanings behind them. I did find that props aren't a big part of our music video but I have justified why they are not for good reasons.
