Two days ago I did some independent filming. This commenced
at about 3:25, when I got home I got changed as quick as possible as the sun
was going to be going down soon. I used the tripod for all my filming as I was
filming alone on this occasion. Setting up the tripod did not take long meaning
I could film soon as possible. The night before I made sure I prepared the
boxes into my car book to save on time. I did multiple shots to make sure I
gave my team a variety to choose from. I made two matches on match action
shots. One shot of me talking down my drive way. The second one was of me
closing my car boot. I had this idea of having me do the same action from
different angles then making it a continuous video, this is also known as a
match on match action shot. I also did some in-between shots to make sure I
covered all bases.
Filming alone was a new experience for me as I had always
filmed as a group before. This did introduce some new challenges for me. The
challenges I faced were making sure the camera was at the right angle and shot
I wanted it to be before filming. As I was acting too I was unable to see how
the shot looked like until I played it back after. This just meant I had to
check after and if I was not happy I would have to re-do the shot. This was
main challenge I had to overcome, when filming on my own. I managed to film everything that I wanted to film before the sunset which I was very pleased with. Filming alone was a great experience as I was able to experience new situation. This helped me grow as a camera woman as I had to film but also act. When I showed my team the next day why was very happy with what I had done. They also liked my match on match shot ideas.
