Melanie Adele Martinez was born April 1995 she is a singer, songwriter, music video director and photographer. Born in Baldwin, New York, Martinez grew up listening to her father's Beatles records and hip-hop music. She first participated the MSG varsity Talent show during junior year of high school,and subsequently rose to prominence in 2012 after appearing on the American television vocal talent show The Voice. Dollhouse is her most successful single to date, having been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
